Capitol Theater 78' was one of my favs. I can't remember the first But I know Dead set was the first Dead I ever heard, FOTD hooked me. I was fortunate enough to hang out with a VERY well established group of Dead fiends who had tons of good stuff and were always on the quest for more. I remember goin in my buddy Skips room and being blown away by all the tapes. Tape trading was so cool. We used to spend weeks waiting for so n so to bring back tapes he said he could get from school or wherever, look up the setlist BY BOOK *gasp* talk about the show then half the time when it finally got into our hands it would be a 20 gen but jammin show, so now you GOTTA have that show but in better quality. I miss those days the adventure, the sessions, the close friendships that all the anticipation brought on. I never had a big collection I would ALWAYS have several shows around but I always gave them away as quick as I got them, I went through HUNDREDS of tapes and turned countless people on, that was more important to me than actually hoarding what I collected.
